The Bass Vault

I'm looking for a great amp or combo (300 + watts) with no bells & whistles.  I want something simple.  I'd give anything for an amp with a responsive bass, treble, mid & nothing else.  So far, I've looked at 2 amps online that seem fairly basic.  They are the Mesa Boogie M6 Carbine & the Ampeg B-1RE.  Anyone here at the BV own or jammed with these amps.  Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    haven't used those amps specifically but I owned a Mesa m-pulse 600 for a while.  The sound was nice.  I just sold it and got an Aguilar AG500SC a couple of weeks ago.  Real nice amp, but it is up for sale.  I've decided to bite the bullet and go with a Crown power amp and a pre amp.  Had a set up like that some years go and loved it.  Running the whole works thru two Aguilar 112 bottoms and a Bergantino 4X10.  

    My only suggestion is, if there is a way for you to play on those amps you are looking at, that would be a very good thing.  Sound is such a personal thing.
