    Transcriptions

    Hi, all!

I have been absent for this forum for quite sometime.  Glad to see that it is not dead, although it looks like traffic has dropped a little.

I have been doing som transcriptions lately.  I´ve taken down Vic´s bass line on Zenergy.  Very cool song.  Including his solo.  I encourage everyone to try to count through that part.  Amazing what Vic can come up with.  He is a true master of playing one meter over something completely different.

For anyone wanting tp try transcribing stuff, I can recommend using a piece of software called Transcribe!.  It makes the task a bit easier.  It is also nice for practicing as it can slow down songs without changing the pitch, much like the Tascam Bass Trainer.

Do any of you know if it is formally ok to share transcribed parts?  I mean in terms of ownership and stuff?  I was thinking of sharing my transcription with you guys, but I am uncertain if Vic will like that or not.  I tried emailing him, but I guess he is kind of busy.

    Hey Morten,

I can't speak for Vic of course but I would imagine that sharing a transcription must be OK.  There are folks like Lucas Picford who have hundreds on their sites.  I don't know for sure though.  It's a great exercise for you..  You might try e-mailing the site administrator.

    Peace
